Proxy for Fortnite

Fortnite — is an incredibly dynamic shooter where the outcome of a Battle Royale is decided in milliseconds. Lag when building walls or delays in hit registration can cost you the victory.

Unfortunately, not all players have an ideal direct connection to Epic Games' servers. ISPs often route traffic through complex paths, and public networks (in universities or offices) may block game ports entirely. In this guide, we will look at how high-quality proxies help stabilize your connection and squeeze the most out of your internet.

🎯 Part 1. Why do you need a proxy in Fortnite?

Using a proxy in competitive games solves three major technical problems:

  1. Reducing Ping (Route Straightening) You can't cheat physics. If you are located, for example, in Kazakhstan but want to play with friends on European (EU) or American (NAE/NAW) servers, your ISP might send data packets through dozens of intermediate nodes. A good proxy server located closer to the game data center allows traffic to follow a shorter and more direct backbone route.

  2. Eliminating Packet Loss / Jitter In Fortnite, packet loss manifests as character "teleporting" and broken building mechanics. A static proxy provides a dedicated channel that isn't overloaded by your neighbors' torrents, making the latency graph smooth.

  3. Bypassing Local Blocks (Firewall) If you are playing from a laptop in a student dormitory, campus, or corporate network, administrators often block P2P traffic and game ports. A proxy allows you to encrypt the connection and tunnel traffic through the firewall, restoring access to matchmaking servers.

💡 Part 2. What type of proxy to choose for shooters?

For games on the Unreal Engine 5 (including Fortnite), the continuity of the data stream (UDP/TCP) is critical. Standard HTTP proxies for browsers will not work here.

You need the SOCKS5 protocol. In the CyberYozh App service, a dedicated port — 9595 — is assigned for these tasks.

As for the IP type, we recommend only one option for gaming:

  • 🟢 Static Residential Proxies (ISP Static) These are IP addresses from real home internet service providers. Why them? Firstly, anti-cheat systems (Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye) trust these addresses the most because they look like standard home internet. Secondly, a static IP is assigned to you for the entire rental period. You won't be kicked out of a match in the middle of a Top-10 because your IP address suddenly changed (which happens with rotating proxies).

⚙️ Part 3. How to set up a proxy for Fortnite (Proxifier)

Since the Epic Games Launcher and the game itself do not have a menu for entering proxy settings, traffic must be forcibly redirected using a proxifier program.

Step-by-step setup:

  1. Install and launch the Proxifier program.

  2. Go to the Profile -> Proxy Servers menu. Click Add.

  3. Enter the data from your CyberYozh personal account: your IP, Port (strictly 9595), select the SOCKS Version 5 protocol, and check the Use authentication box to enter your Username and Password.

  4. Go to the Profile -> Proxification Rules menu.

  5. Click Add to create a rule for the game.

  6. In the Applications field, specify the executable files for the game and launcher: EpicGamesLauncher.exe; FortniteClient-Win64-Shipping.exe; FortniteLauncher.exe

  7. In the Action field, select the proxy you just added.

  8. Click OK. Launch Epic Games and the game — your traffic is now going through an optimized route.

💡 Using other software? Proxifier is the most popular, but not the only tool. You can run the game through any proxifier you prefer (e.g., ProxyCap or Win2Socks). Detailed instructions for these are collected in our proxy client setup guide section.

Conclusion

A stable connection in Fortnite is just as important as high FPS. ISP connection issues shouldn't ruin your stats and enjoyment of the game.

👉 Want to forget about lag? In the CyberYozh App catalog, choose Static Residential (ISP) proxies in a location as close as possible to the Fortnite servers you need. Set up a SOCKS5 connection using our guide and play comfortably from any network.
