#### **Step 3: Adding and checking the proxy**

1. **Open the proxy manager.** In the main SocksCap64 window, click on the **“Proxy”** icon.

2. **Adding a new proxy.** In the “Proxy Manager” window that opens, click on the **“+”** icon on the toolbar on the left to add a new line for settings.

3. **Enter proxy data.** Click on the fields in the new row and carefully enter your proxy server data: **IP address** (Proxy Address), **Port**, **Login** (Account), and **Password**.

4. **Testing the connection.** Select the line with your proxy and click on the **check mark (Test)** icon. A test log will appear at the bottom of the window. If everything is OK, **“OK”** will appear in the “Status” column.

5. **Saving the proxy.** The test is complete — great! Now click the **“Save”** button.

#### **Step 4: Adding and running the program**

The proxy is configured and ready to use. All that remains is to specify which application will use it.

1. **Adding a program (manual method).** This is the most reliable method. Right-click in the main window and select **“Add an executable file...”**.
   * In the window that appears, click **“Browse...”**.
   * Find the `.exe` file for the desired program on your computer (for example, `brave.exe`), select it, and click **“Open”**.
   * SocksCap64 will automatically fill in all the paths. All you have to do is give the profile a name (for example, “Brave Browser”) and click **“OK”**.

2. **Selecting the active proxy.** Before starting, make sure that the proxy you have configured is selected in the **Current Proxy** drop-down list.

3. **Launch!** Select your program (Brave Browser) from the list and click the **“Run”** button on the main panel.
   * **Important:** For the program to work through the proxy, **you must launch it from the SocksCap64 interface**.
   * To verify, open the website [browserleaks.com/ip](https://browserleaks.com/ip) in your browser and make sure that your IP and geolocation match the proxy data.
