Proxy settings in Vivaldi

Vivaldi — is the most flexible browser of modern times. A built-in tracker blocker, web side panels, tab stacking — it is the choice of those who want to control their surfing experience.

However, even with tracker protection enabled, your IP address remains exposed to websites and your ISP. To enhance online privacy and safely manage network connections, you need a proxy.

The main technical nuance: Vivaldi uses system proxy settings. This means that changes will affect not only the browser but also other programs on your computer.

In this guide, we will break down which type of proxy to choose for your tasks and how to configure it via system parameters.

Part 1. Strategy: Which proxy do you need for Vivaldi?

Vivaldi users often use it for specific tasks. The choice of proxy depends on the goal.

1. Datacenter Proxies — For content and speed

  • What they are: High-speed IP addresses from data centers.
  • Purpose: Optimizing network routing, accessing global web resources, and increasing online privacy.
  • Why: The fastest and most affordable. Great for testing localized content, managing remote servers, and safely reading regional news.

2. Residential Proxies (ISP) — For crypto and shopping

  • What they are: IP addresses from real home internet service providers.
  • Purpose: Working with crypto exchanges (Vivaldi is popular in the crypto community), participating in token sales, and online shopping (Amazon, eBay).
  • Why: Websites see you as a regular home user. They provide a stable connection that mimics typical user traffic, which is ideal for market research and localized testing.

3. Mobile Proxies (4G/5G) — For web panels and SMM

  • What they are: IP addresses from mobile carriers.
  • Vivaldi Feature: The browser has Web Panels (side panels), where it is convenient to keep mobile versions of Instagram, TikTok, or Telegram.
  • Why: If you manage social media via Vivaldi's side panels, mobile proxies will provide a reliable and authentic connection environment for social media management.

Part 2. Data Preparation

To set it up, we will need data from a reliable provider. We recommend CyberYozh App.

After purchase, you will receive:

  • IP (Host): 172.98.60.180
  • Port: 58763
  • Login / Password: Authorization data.

Important: When configuring via the Windows menu (as in this guide), we recommend using the HTTP/HTTPS protocol. The system implementation of SOCKS5 in Windows does not support login/password authorization for browsers.

Part 3. Proxy Setup (System Method)

Remember: this setting will redirect all of your system's traffic through the proxy.

Step 1. Navigating to network settings

  1. Launch Vivaldi.
  2. Click on the V logo (Menu) in the upper left corner -> Settings.Fig. 2. Vivaldi browser user interface, showing access to settings through the main menu.

  3. In the settings window, select the Network section from the left menu.

  4. Click the Proxy Settings button.Fig. 3. Vivaldi browser user interface, displaying the network settings panel with the "Proxy settings" option highlighted.

Step 2. Configuration in Windows

The browser will open the Windows system "Proxy" window.

  1. Find the "Manual proxy setup" section.
  2. Click the "Use a proxy server" button (On).
  3. Fill in the fields:
  4. Address: Your IP (e.g., 172.98.60.180).
  5. Port: Your port (e.g., 58763).
  6. Click "Save".

Step 3. Authorization

Return to Vivaldi and try to open any website (e.g., whoer.net). The browser will show a system window for entering your login and password.

  • Enter the Username and Password from your provider's personal account.
  • Click Sign in.

Part 4. Anonymity Check

Now Vivaldi is working through a secure channel. Be sure to verify this. Go to whoer.net or browserleaks.com/ip.

What to look for:

  • Has the IP address changed to the purchased one?
  • Does the geolocation match the proxy's country?
  • Are there any DNS or WebRTC leaks?

If the check is successful — your proxy connection is correctly configured and active.

Pro Tip: If you need to use SOCKS5 or set up a proxy only for Vivaldi (without affecting the system), we recommend installing the FoxyProxy or SwitchyOmega extension from the Chrome Web Store. Vivaldi fully supports them.

Conclusion

Vivaldi is a powerful tool, and with the right proxy, it becomes even better.

  • For crypto, use Residential Proxies.
  • For social media in web panels, use Mobile Proxies.
  • For streaming services, use Datacenter Proxies.

You can find high-quality and fast proxies for any task in the CyberYozh App catalog. Stay safe!
