Samsung devices are an entire ecosystem. While securing a connection on a phone can be done in just 2 clicks, things are more complicated with TVs. Samsung uses its own operating system, Tizen OS, which lacks the familiar VPN applications.
In this guide, we will break down how to set up a proxy on any Samsung hardware to provide access to popular services (YouTube, Netflix) and websites.
📺 Part 1. Samsung Smart TV
The Task: You want to watch international content or YouTube in high quality, but your Samsung TV doesn't have an App Store with VPN programs.
The Nuance: In the TV's network settings (Settings -> General -> Network), there is a "Proxy" item. BUT! TVs usually only allow you to enter an IP and Port. They cannot request a Login and Password.
Since high-quality private proxies (like in the CyberYozh App) are always password-protected, you won't be able to enter them directly into the TV.
The Solution: Sharing Internet with a Proxy
The most reliable way is to set up the proxy on a computer and "broadcast" this signal to the TV.
Method A: Via Windows (Mobile Hotspot)
Turn your laptop into an access point with a configured connection.
Install a traffic routing program on your computer (for example, Connectify Hotspot or MyPublicWiFi). A standard Windows hotspot does not always forward proxy traffic correctly.
Enter your proxy data (IP, Port, Login, Password) into the program.
Create a Wi-Fi hotspot (name it something like
Samsung-Connect).Connect your Samsung TV to this Wi-Fi network.
Result: The TV uses the connection through your chosen location.
Method B: Setup on a Router (Keenetic / Mikrotik)
If your router supports proxy settings or secure tunnels.
Log in to the router's admin panel.
Configure an outgoing connection via proxy (usually the "Other connections" or "Network client" section).
Set a rule: direct only the TV's traffic (via its MAC address) through the proxy.
📱 Part 2. Smartphones and Tablets (Samsung Galaxy)
It’s easier here since it’s Android. However, there is a difference between Wi-Fi and mobile internet.
Scenario 1: Wi-Fi Connection (Without third-party apps)
Samsung allows you to configure a proxy for a specific Wi-Fi network using built-in tools.
Open Settings -> Connections -> Wi-Fi.
Tap the "gear" icon next to your network.
Tap "Advanced" (or "View more").
In the Proxy section, select "Manual."
Enter:
Host name: Proxy IP address.
Port: Proxy port (HTTP).
Tap "Save."
Open a browser (Chrome/Samsung Internet). An authorization prompt will appear. Enter your proxy Login and Password.
Scenario 2: Mobile Internet (LTE/5G)
To work through a mobile network (or to ensure the proxy works in all apps, not just the browser), you need special utilities.
Download Super Proxy or Tun2Tap from Google Play.
Create a profile and enter the IP, Port, Login, and Password.
Start the connection.
Now your entire phone (Instagram, YouTube, Browser) operates through a secure connection.

🌐 Part 3. Samsung Internet Browser
If you don't need to change the IP for the entire system, but just need to visit a specific site through the native Samsung browser.
The Samsung Internet browser itself does not have proxy settings.
However, it supports plugins.
The easiest way is to use the method from "Scenario 2" (Super Proxy app), configuring it to work only with the browser.
💡 Which proxy to choose for Samsung?
The choice depends on the device and the goal.
| Device | Task | Recommended Proxy Type |
| Smart TV | Watching Netflix, YouTube 4K | Residential Static (ISP). Datacenter proxies may have limited compatibility with streaming services. You need a "home" IP from the required country with high speed. |
| Phone | Social Media (Instagram, X) | Mobile Proxies or IPv4 Datacenter. For social media, mobile proxies provide maximum connection stability. |
| Phone | Gaming (Stable ping) | Residential Static (ISP). You need stable ping and a constant IP to eliminate connection drops during a match. |
