Proxy for Twitch

Twitch — is the main traffic consumer in the modern internet. Live broadcasts in 1080p60 require a perfect communication channel. But Twitch is also a platform with aggressive advertising, regional restrictions, and strict chat moderation.

The official Twitch desktop app is no longer available. Amazon has ended its support. Therefore, on a computer, work is done through a browser or streaming software.

This guide will explain how to remove ads by changing your country, how to farm Channel Points, and how a streamer can bypass IP restrictions.

📌 Part 1. Why do you need a proxy for Twitch?

Here, the goals of the audience differ cardinally.

For Viewers and Farmers
  1. Ad Blocking (AdBlock via GEO)
Problem: Twitch has learned to bypass standard AdBlock extensions by embedding ads directly into the video stream.
Solution: Changing the country. In some countries (e.g., Moldova, Albania, Ukraine, Russia), Twitch does not show ads at all or shows them extremely rarely. Connecting through proxies of these countries provides a clean broadcast without interruptions.

  2. Farming Channel Points
Problem: Many viewers use bots to watch a stream in 10 windows and accumulate points for bets or rewards. Twitch bans such «farms» by IP.
Solution: Each browser window operates through its own proxy.

  3. Bypassing a Chat Ban
If a streamer has banned you by IP, you will not be able to write in the chat even with a new account. A proxy solves this problem.

For Broadcasters
  1. Bypassing IP Bans (Ban Evasion)
Problem: Twitch can block a streamer's IP address (or an entire provider's subnet) by mistake or for a rule violation. In this case, the «Start Streaming» button in OBS simply gives a connection error.
Solution: A proxy replaces the IP for OBS. For Twitch servers, the stream comes from a «clean» address, allowing work to continue.

  2. Connection Stabilization (Fixing Dropped Frames)
Problem: Sometimes your ISP's route to Twitch Ingest Servers is overloaded or unstable, causing dropped frames even if your internet speed is high.
Solution: A high-quality datacenter proxy changes the traffic route. You send the stream to the proxy, and the proxy sends it to Twitch, bypassing the provider's problematic nodes.

🖥️ Part 2. Setup for Viewers (Browser and Farms)

Since there is no separate app, all the magic happens on the web. Choose a method based on your goals.

Method 1: Browser Extensions (For comfortable viewing)

Ideal if you have 1 account and simply want to remove ads or change your region.

This is the best way for the average user, as it allows you to route only Twitch through the proxy, leaving YouTube and other sites at your normal speed (without a proxy).

  1. Install the Proxy SwitchyOmega (Chrome/Firefox) or FoxyProxy extension.

  2. Create a New Profile → name it «Twitch».

  3. Enter your proxy data (IP, Port, Login, Password).

  4. Go to the Auto Switch tab.

  5. Add a Rule:

    • Condition: *.twitch.tv

    • Profile: Select the created «Twitch» profile.

  6. Click Apply Changes.

Result: Now, when you open Twitch, the extension automatically enables the proxy. The rest of the internet works directly.

Method 2: Antidetect Browsers (For Farming Drops and Points)

Ideal if you need to run 10, 20, or 50 accounts simultaneously.

If you are hunting for in-game items (Drops) in Rust, CS2, or Tarkov from multiple accounts, regular Chrome will give you away (linking accounts by hardware fingerprint). You need specialized browsers: Dolphin{anty}, AdsPower, GoLogin.

How it works: Each profile in such a browser is an isolated «virtual computer» with its own cookies and a unique fingerprint.

Instructions:

  1. Create a profile in the antidetect browser.

  2. In the Proxy tab, select the SOCKS5 protocol (it handles multiple connections better).

  3. Paste the proxy data.

  4. Launch the profile and log in to Twitch.

  5. Repeat for the other 10-20 accounts.

👉 Section with guides on setting up antidetect browsers.

⚠️ Important note: PC Resources. Twitch is a very «heavy» website. 10 open tabs with streams can consume 16 GB of RAM and load the CPU to 100%.

  • Solution: In the Twitch player settings for each account, set the video quality to 160p. This does not affect receiving rewards (Drops) but reduces the load on the proxy and CPU tenfold.

🎥 Part 3. Setup for Streamers (OBS Studio)

OBS Studio is the industry standard. But it does not have a built-in «Use Proxy» button. If your IP is blacklisted by Twitch or your provider «throttles» speed to the broadcast servers, forced routing will help us.

Method: Proxifier + OBS
  1. Install the Proxifier program (Standard Edition).

  2. In the Profile -> Proxy Servers menu, add your SOCKS5 proxy.

    • Important: HTTP proxies will not work here. You need a fast SOCKS5 capable of maintaining a stable stream.

  3. In the Profile -> Proxification Rules menu, create a rule:

    • Applications: obs64.exe (or obs32.exe)

    • Action: Select your proxy.

  4. Verification: Run a bandwidth test in OBS. If the bitrate is stable (green square), it means the tunnel is working.

Important: For streaming in 1080p60, you need a proxy with a guaranteed upload speed of at least 8-10 Mbps. Free public proxies will not cope here — the image will break into artifacts.

📱 Part 4. Mobile Setup (iOS/Android)

The Twitch mobile app works perfectly.

  1. Use proxy managers (Potatso for iOS, Super Proxy for Android).

  2. Configure the proxy and enable it before opening Twitch.

  3. Tip: If you want to watch in high quality (Source) via mobile internet, make sure the proxy has unlimited traffic. One hour of watching Twitch consumes up to 2 GB of data.

💡 Part 5. Which proxy to choose for Twitch? (Speed Guide)

Unlike Twitter or LinkedIn, the main thing here is not «trust», but bandwidth. Video does not forgive slow proxies.

Proxy Type

Speed

Traffic

Verdict

Residential Rotating

Average

Pay per GB

Categorically NO. You will go broke on traffic, and the stream will lag.

Mobile (4G, 5G)

Average

Unlimited

Suitable for chat/farming, but expensive for 24/7 video viewing.

Datacenter

Very High

Unlimited

The ideal choice. Cheap, fast, stable. Twitch does not ban datacenter IPs for viewing.

Static Residential

High

Unlimited

Luxury option. Better than servers if you are afraid of getting banned when logging in. Ideal for streaming.

Country choice for «AdBlock effect»

If your goal is to remove ads:

  • Get static residential proxies from: Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Albania.

  • In these regions, as of 2025, Twitch does not run pre-rolls (ads before starting a stream).

Conclusion

For Twitch, expensive mobile proxies are rarely needed. Speed is king here.

👉 Tired of lags and ads? Our high-speed datacenter proxies (1 Gbps) will provide a smooth 1080p image, while static residential proxies will rid you of intrusive ads when watching streams.
